Boys’ basketball was engaged in an exciting game against Culver City High School on Wednesday, Feb. 1, and won 69-62. Despite their rough first quarter, Samo was able to bring up their score by several points finally tying in the third quarter.

“I think we really needed to be more aggressive, especially in the first quarter,” basketball coach James Hecht said. “Every game has a bad quarter. If we had taken that first quarter out, the game would have been great.”

Samo accomplished much throughout the rest of the game, however, starting after half time. Their offense, for example, vigorously battled to catch up to Culver City.

“This is probably our biggest offense performance this year,” Hecht said.

With only three more games before playoffs, the team is looking forward to completing their season.

“We have three games left and right now we’re focusing on Friday,” Hecht said. “We want to end this season with momentum.”

Boys’ basketball’s last home game is on Friday, Feb. 3 at 7:30 p.m and they will be honoring their seniors.
