Tennis defeats Beverly Hills, has high expectations for CIF

An April 4 win against Loyola left boys’ tennis with a 5-2 season record and high hopes of more victories to come.

The win was sweetened by an earlier victory against traditional rival Beverly Hills, who the team defeated in a March 31 match. The recent series of successive victories has coach Wilston Poon confident the team is “on the track to winning league” – a feat which has not been accomplished in many years, Poon said.

“This year is probably the best chance Samo has at winning CIF because the team is mostly seniors, so we are at our peak. If we can manage to round the whole team together by the time CIF comes around, we should definitely win,” senior Connor Treacy said.
