Samo girls’ lacrosse ends challenging season with progress and promise

Samo girls’ lacrosse wrapped up a challenging season with a 6-13 overall record and an 0-2 league record.  Samo played their last game of the season against Village Christian High School, losing 9-15. This year, they unfortunately fell short of making CIFs, however, they were able to focus on building up team community and strength.

Girls’ lacrosse gears up to kick of the rest of their season

Samo girls’ lacrosse officially started their 2025 season on Feb. 2 against Hart High School. After a challenging 2024 season, the team finished with a 5-10-1 record in the Ocean League.  The team faced key motivating wins, such as their impressive 20-5 victory against Beverly Hills High School, but ultimately tough competition and some close losses kept them from making the CIF playoffs.

On Nov. 9 Calliope Kirschbaum (’28), Sage Moore (’28), Alexandra Ornelas (’28) and Lea Zakharia (’28) took first place in the Female-Centric category at the Drama Teachers’ Association of Southern California (DTASC) Festival. Each of the four girls feels especially proud of their performance of “Dance Nation” by Claire Barron.
